Dette er en bog med 19 interviews om at leve med type 1 diabetes. Det er en bog om problemerne og angsten, men i den grad også en bog om, hvordan man lever med sin sygdom. Det er også blevet en bog om, hvor kede folk er af at være afhængige af andre-og om, hvordan ægtefæller stiller op i meget betydeligt omfang, Jeg havde slet ikke tænkt, det skulle blive en bog om kærlighed, men det er den også blevet. Foruden interviews rummer bogen indlæg af diabeteslæger og Odense Universitetshospitals psykoterapeut om den nyeste viden og deres gode råd. Jeg håber, at bogen bliver en brugsbog, som beskriver problemets alvor til gavn for både diabetikere, men også behandlere, pårørende til diabetikere, beslutningstagere og andre interesserede.

Henning Beck-Nielsen, professor, dr.med., var blandt de første i verden, som opdagede, at type 1 diabetes og type 2 diabetes ikke skyldes samme sygdom, nemlig mangel på hormonet insulin. Der-imod får man type 2 diabetes, fordi ens celler ikke kan reagere på insulin, hvorefter sukkeret hober sig op i blodet. Denne forståelse aff insulinresistens har været afgørende for den moderne behandling a type 2 diabetes, som hvert 20. menneske i verden lider af. L ight of Wisdom, The Conclusion describes the activities of a Vajra master and presents detailed explanations of Buddhist practices to clear away hindrances on the path and enhance realization. The book is a combination of three texts. The roof text, The Gradual Path of the Wisdom Essence, comprises oral instructions of Padmasambhava, recorded by his chief female disciple, Yeshe Tsogyal. Padmasambhava established Buddhist doctrine in Tibet during the eighth century and he concealed teachings in the form of hidden treasures, to be revealed at an appropriate time in the future. The second text, The Light of Wisdom by Jamgön Kongtrül-one of the most prominent Buddhist masters of nineteenth-century Tibet-is an extensive commentary on this sacred scripture. Entering the Path of Wisdom, the third text, consists of annotations on the commentary by Jamyang Drakpa, a student of Jamgön Kongtrül, as dictated to Jokyab Rinpoche.
